Why POWER & EDGE
Simply put, if you can’t skate you can’t play the game. Skating skills (which build “power and edge”) make the difference between every level of athlete from mites to bantams to collegiate athletes.
Skating is at the very core of skill development in hockey. Skating ability determines the ability threshold for puck handling, passing, body contact and shooting.
It is important that young players focus on learning the proper skating fundamentals, and that skating is continually worked on as a player progresses.*
We believe the sooner athletes start developing the proper skating fundamentals the greater their skill development will be.
Let’s build these fundamentals together at our PRESEASON CAMP!
What Our Camp Offers
Our camp offers power and edge development training for mites through high school leveled athletes! Our on ice training will be broken down into ‘topics’ such as edges, stride, transitions, etc.
Each group can expect to be at the rink two, out of the three days of camp. All groups will have a combination of on and off ice classes. Join us to work with:
Coach Mallory, who will lead all on ice classes.
Dr. Victoria Williams, psychologist and former D1 women’s hockey athlete will be on ice and present off ice to specific groups on mindset.
Other off ice professionals, including Jenn Shanahan, who will work with specific groups for off ice movements.
Coach Mallory Olson is one of the most professional and knowledgeable coaches out there when it comes to skating mechanics.
“Coach Mallory Olson is one of the most professional and knowledgeable coaches out there when it comes to skating mechanics. Not only do we feel she brings a wonderful knowledge of skating skills and drills, but her connection with the kids creates a positive and motivational atmosphere both on and off the ice…”
